Who Can Hold These Roles?

Anyone with the right skills, time, and interest can take on these roles. For some roles, like the group representative, it helps if the person has a similar experience to the members. New members might feel more comfortable talking to someone who understands their situation.

Members often want to help because it makes them feel empowered. Your organizational partner can help with tasks like financial reporting, planning, tracking, evaluations, and promotion.

Some roles, such as technical support, managing funds, setting up meetings, or keeping records, don’t require personal experience with stroke. These roles can be filled by volunteers that are not members of the group, like students, retired professionals, or family and friends.

Note: Some groups or partners might need police clearance or other checks for volunteers.
