Share your voice – March of Dimes Canada launches national stroke survey

March of Dimes Canada (MODC) has launched a comprehensive national stroke survey to better understand life after stroke, from people who experience it directly.

The survey explores physical and mental health, emotional well-being, family life, employment, and social engagement after stroke. Findings from the study will inform the purposeful design of innovative, new services available through March of Dimes Canada’s After Stroke program.

As a thank you, participants will have the chance to win a gift card for up to $100. Winners can choose from almost one hundred types of gift cards.

The survey is available in both English and French. The survey is open from January 25 to February 27, 2023.

You can choose between:

    • A short version of the survey that takes about 10 minutes to complete.
    • Or, a longer version of the survey that takes about 20 minutes to complete.

What is the survey?
March of Dimes Canada (MODC) has just launched a comprehensive national landmark survey in English and French for all stroke survivors and their caregivers, to better understand life after stroke, from people who experience it directly. As a thank you for participation, participants will have a chance to win a gift card for up to $100.

The survey takes place from January 25 to February 27.

What are we going to do with the information?
The survey explores physical and mental health, emotional well-being, family life, employment, and social engagement after stroke. The findings will inform the purposeful design of innovative, new services available through March of Dimes Canada’s After Stroke program.

Are your survey results anonymous?
Yes. All data collected is anonymous and confidential. It will only be viewed by Forum Research and the March of Dimes Canada survey team. Any personal identifiers such as names are not required to complete the survey.

Will I need to enter my personal information for the draw?
Participants will need to enter their name and contact information after the survey is completed to be eligible to win.

How will privacy be protected?
Any personal identifiers such as names will be protected and not linked back to your responses. If you have questions regarding the survey, please contact StrokeSurvey@marchofdimes.ca

Do I have to answer all the questions?
The survey is voluntary, and it is your choice to choose which questions you would like to answer. Each question has a “Prefer not to answer” option which you can select if you do not want to answer a particular question.

How long will the survey take?
Participants can complete a short version of the survey (taking approximately 10 minutes) and a long version (taking approximately 20 minutes).
